Rajveer, played by Hrithik Roshan steals the Kohinoor diamond from London and is chased by Mafia Don Zafar, played by Danny Denzongpa and his men who have announced a $5 million reward for it. Rajveer agrees to give the diamond but for a reward of $20 million in stead. Hearing the increased reward price, Zafar’s men attack Rajveer, but he flees. He meets a girl called Harleen, played by Katrina Kaif and takes her help in stiching up his gun wound he earlier got and tells her some government officials are after him.
At the bank the officials take Harleen with them to the police station. She later learns that they are taking her to another place and tries to escape. Meanwhile Rajveer comes and rescues her. They later go for dinner and he shows her the Kohinoor diamond and she is shocked that he is really the thief. Little do they know, that the government official Zorawar is following them. They escape and jump out the window.
Harleen keeps moving from one place to another with Rajveer but he always makes sure she is protected and not hurt. They both fall in love. Later she comes to know of the fact that Rajveer has killed an official called Gul and get furious at him. He gives the Kohinoor to her and jumps into a river before he is shot by Zorawar and is assumed dead. Harleen goes to Rajveer’s house and learns the fact of his brother’s death and that he is an expert swimmer. At the hospital Rajveer who is recuperating gets drugged by Harleen and reunited with his parents after many years.
