Basant is an Emotional-Romantic Musical-Thriller Family Drama Film crafted with excellence and written by Amiya Chakrabarty. The Story revolves around the life of Uma (played by Mumtaz Shanti) and her brother Babul (played by Mumtaz Ali), two downtrodden servants who dream of becoming singing and dancing stars on the stage. However, she marries his spoilt and distrustful Nirmal (played by Ulhas)- a brother of theatre owner and wanted a fortune- but things get complicated- when she gets abandoned by her self-absorbed husband. She is left to raise her child by dancing and singing on the stage, leading to consequences.
