Battalion 609 is an action thriller film released on 11th January 2019, directed by Brijesh Batuknath Tripathi and produced by Naraindas Lalwani for the banner N. J. Lalwani Films. Featuring in the film are Elena Kazan, Farnaz Shetty, Sparsh Sharma, Vishwas Kini, Klaan, Jashn Kohli, Vicky Ahuja, Vikas Srivastava, Chandraprakash Thakur and Manish R. Sharma.
The plot revolves around a cricket match between the Indian Army and the Pakistan Army. After an attack on the Indian Army near the LOC, the match that was to be played between India and Pakistan gets cancelled. Anwar Hussein a Pakistani soldier who is a diehard cricket fan was looking forward to the match. The film narrates the story between the two rival countries and how a game of cricket becomes an issue.
Anwar Hussein throws the cricket bat on to the Indian camp and calls the Indians, a coward. The Indian Army reiterates by throwing a ball to them. Soon there is a verbal fight between the two army soldiers guarding their territory which leads to the two teams deciding to play a cricket match and whoever loses the match has to shift their post eighteen kilometers behind.
