Cyrus, Mistry, played by Saif Ali Khan lives in Jamshedpur and is an aspiring sculptor. He arrives in Panchgani to meet an expert sculptor Dinshaw, played by Naseeruddin Shah. His wife Katy, played by Dimple Kapadia also welcomes him but later flirts with him. He starts to learn a little more about the family. Katy sends Cyrus to Mumbai to get money from her father in law Fardonjee, while she herself is having an affair with Dinshaw’s brother Farookh, played by Boman Irani. Farrokh’s wife Tina, played by Simone Singh is subdued and meek.
Katy then asks Cyrus to kill her father in law and Tina so she can be with Farookh. Little does Cyrus know, that they have their plan to kill Cyrus as well to destroy any witness to the crime. Cyrus feeds Fardonjee his a poisoned dish and he dies, while Tina is away at a beauty salon. When Farrokh comes in the house to attack Cyrus he kills Farrokh and flees and informs Katy her plan failed. The police arrest Katy and Dinshaw for Fardonjee’s murder but Katy keeps blaming Cyrus. The police don’t find any evidence of a person called Cyrus.
Later it is revealed that Tina and Cyrus are siblings and it was their plan to ruin the family and get their property. She later marks her next family a target but Cyrus runs off with the money not wanting to be a part of a crime again.
