Shyam and Pradeep are close friends who study in the same college. Shyam falls in love at first sight with a new college student named Sundari. Pradeep then decides to make the two meet and soon they fall in love. Meanwhile there is a college party and things get out of hand between Sundari and Shyam, where both get intimate. Shyam then realizes that he truly loves Sundari and wants to marry her. He confesses his desire and Sundari accepts. Shyam’s elder brother however is against this marriage and wants his brother to marry Nisha, who is head over heels in love with him. After a lot of arguments and convincing, Shyam has no choice but to accept his brother’s decision. Little does he know that Sundari is now expecting his child. When Pradeep learns this he feels sorry for Sundari and decides to keep her respect by marrying her. Soon Sundari gives birth to a daughter and that is when Shyam is told the truth. The film is directed and  produced by V B Rajendra Prasad. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The screenplay is written by V B Rajendra Prasad. The star cast includes Ashok Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Padmini Kolhapure, Mohnish Bahl, Om Puri, Asrani, Mohan Choti and Tej Sapru.
