Besharam is produced and directed in 1978 and is the directorial debut by veteran actor Deven Verma . The action drama thriller film features Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Amjad Khan, A. K. Hangal, Iftekar , Nirupa Roy and Deven Verma.
Story of an innocent man who sets out on a journey to find the truth about his father’s death. He finds himself in dangerous situations when he comes across after he comes to know that behind his father’s death it was Digvijay Singh(Amjad Khan) who implicates Ramchandra(A.K. Hangal) of being a corrupt person . A humble teacher who commits due to loss of face when he was at no fault . His young son, an obedient simpleton Ram Kumar(Amitabh Bachchan) an insurance agent who resolves to fight against injustice and he manages to uncover the criminal elements. He also joins the police force under the leadership of Police Commissioner (Iftekar) and to bust the diamond smuggling business he disguises himself as Prince Chandrashekar a top diamond businessman from South Africa.
