Bhavna is an orphan who is hard working and lives life on her own terms. One day she meets the young and talented Ajay Kapoor while he draws her sketch. Soon the two become close and fall in love. They then marry and settle into marital bliss. After a while the financial situation in their home worsens as Ajay’s wealthy dad never approved of their marriage and they have to live off their own earnings. Ajay’s paintings don’t make enough money. Bhavna even tries selling them door to door. Soon she finds out that she is expecting their child and is overjoyed but Ajay is unhappy as they will not be able to afford bringing up a child. Ajay tells Bhavna that he will meet his father for monetary help and return soon. Days turn into months and there is no sign of Ajay. When Bhavna somehow manages to reach Ajay’s father’s house, she is shocked to find that he is married to another woman of his father’s choice. She is devastated and heartbroken and goes to her friend for help. The film is directed by Pravin Bhatt and produced by Devi Dutt and Chanda Dutt. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri. The star cast includes Marc , Shabana Azmi, Rohini Hattangadi, Saeed Jaffrey, Vikas Anand and Ashalata.
