Roop Rathore is a singer from Rajasthan who comes to the city of Bombay for his ailing father’s treatment. He one night sings at Ajay Narang’s hotel and his sister Reshma, sees him and falls in love with him. Reshma gets so obsessed with him that when all the girls are impressed with Roop she gets angry and asks him to sing only for her. Roop meanwhile falls in love with a doctor named Pooja and wants to be with her. Roop then starts singing for Ajay’s rival Patel and when Reshma is upset over this Ajay to make his sister happy, beats up Patel until he is forced to throw Roop out. Roop desperate to get money for his father’s treatment agrees to Reshma’s demands.

 

Later when Roop tries to leave the city with Pooja and his father Reshma and her brother interrupt their plans. The siblings attack Roop and try to kill Pooja but accidentally end up killing Reshma. Pooja and Roop thus escape the city. The movie is directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced byRobin Bhatt and Viral Lakhiya. The music is composed by Anu Malik and the lyrics are written by Praveen Bhardwaj. The star cast includes Naseeruddin Shah, Shahrukh Khan, Pooja Bhatt, Anupam Kher, Mushtaq Khan, Avtar Gill, Pankaj Berry, Gagan Gupta, Shrivallabh Vyas, Razak Khan, Amar Kuber, Om Kar Kapoor, Rajni Bala and Nilofer.
