Charan is a young and energetic man who aspires to be the best wrestler there is. He is training under Mastram who has vowed to be celibate. His training is going quite well until he sees a beautiful and bubby girl named Chameli one day. He instantly falls in love with her and desires to marry her. However he realizes that to marry her, he will have to give up Mastram’s akhada. He thus decides to go ahead and soon Chameli too falls head over heels in love with him. The couple meet in secret but unfortunately one day, one of her relatives sees them together and all hell breaks loose.
Both the families oppose the marriage but the young lovers are relentless. Chameli’s father locks her up in her house and refuses to let her see Charan again. The latter is upset and now along with his friends abducts her from her own house and they secretly get married. The families are then tricked into giving their blessings to the young newly married couple. The film is directed by Basu Chatterjee and produced by Ramesh Ningoo and Sushil Gaur. The star cast includes Anil Kapoor, Amrita Singh, Amjad Khan, Pankaj Kapur, Ram Sethi, Om Prakash, Satyen Kappu, Ghanshyam, Annu Kapoor, Bharati Achrekar and Tabassum.
