Chander, played by Sahib Chopra is an aspiring photographer living in Nainital with his parents. He lives a happy go lucky life and is independent. He happens to meet a stage dancer by the name of Nirmala, played by Preeti Jhangiani and is mesmerized by her beauty. He befriends her and gets to know her better. He promises to take her to Mumbai, where all her dreams can come true and she will be one among the stars. Despite her family’s opposition, Chander still supports Nirmala and takes her to Mumbai.
In Mumbai, Niramala becomes a big star and changes her name to Garima. Chander sells his studio as well as camera to make Garima a big star. One day a movie director discovers Garima’s talent and casts her in his movie. There is no looking back now for her and she starts to ignore Chander. Her assistant even plots against him and gets him thrown out of Garima’s house. He eventually returns back to Nainital and goes back to his old job. One day he runs into Garima and pleads her to take him back and she feels guilty and they both get back together.
The movie is directed by Mustafa Engineer and produced by Babar Chopra. The music is composed by HMV Saregama.
