Charlie Chaplin mimic Bangshi Das performs. By playing the 'joker' at birthday celebrations, he makes little money. But he chooses to refer to himself as an actor instead of a worker. His son, who is the worst critic of his performances, dominates his life. Because the father-son team is skilled at making fun of poverty, it never appears bitter.
