The story of the movie revolves around how money can transform people and forget family values. Charandas, played by Om Prakash is a humble workingman having his small mechanical shop and he lives with his wife Kamla, played by Urmila Bhatt and their two children in a small house. They are happy with what they have and go about their lives as any middle class family. However, over time the shop becomes successful and it gets transformed into a huge engineering empire. This brings loads of money and luxuries into Charandas’s household.

Kamla and the children become blinded by so much money and start spending carelessly and having one party after another. Charandas fed up with their blatant lifestyle, moves out of the house. He meets Lalli who is a dejected wife, because her husband, Vikram wont give her any respect and is having an affair with another woman. Charandas and Lalli hatch a plan to act like a couple to teach their respective spouses a lesson.

Meanwhile Vikram gets thrown out of his mistress’s house for behaving badly and Kamla invites him to stay with them in their mansion. She also hatches a plan to teach her husband a lesson by proving he is mentally ill and taking over his empire. Charandas however, does one up on them and gives all his wealth to his workers and makes them shareholders. Eventually they all realize their mistake and the two families unite. The movie is directed by B.S Thapa and produced by Kanwar Mahender Singh Bedi. The music is composed by Rajesh Roshan.
