China Town is a film directed Shakti Samanta starring Shammi Kapoor in a dual role, Shakila , Helen in a supporting role and was a black and white movie.
Shekhar (Shammi Kapoor) is a young singer who lives with his widowed mother, and is in love with Rita (Shakila). She is the sole daughter of a rich businessman Raj Bahadur and does not approve of this alliance so they move to Kolkata. Shekhar follows them but is arrested by the police on her father’s complaint. On questioning him they realise the resemblance to a China Town gangster Mike(Shammi Kapoor) so the police convince Shekhar to impersonate Mike so they can catch the actual culprits. Meanwhile the culprit escapes with the help of Rita as she thinks he is Shekhar, when their mother tells Shekhar that he must he must be the long lost son of hers who was kidnapped when he was young. The two brothers unite and in the end the criminals are captured. The movie was released in 1962.
