Chintu Ka Birthday is an Indian Hindi-language comedy drama film written and directed by Devanshu Singh and Satyanshu Singh. It is produced by comedians Tanmay Bhat, Rohan Joshi, Ashish Shakya and Gursimran Khamba of All India under their banner First Draft.
Madan, his wife and son Chintu live in Iraq when the rule of Saddam Hussain was rampant in 2004. His family who is illegally there has been trying to get out and come back to India since a long time but all their efforts have been futile. They are however hopeful and optimistic for the future. Currently they are all gearing up to celebrate the 6th birthday of their son Chintu. In the preparation they struggle from getting a cake to the decorations. So they decide to make a cake at home with whatever little they have and decorate the house to make Chintu happy. Just as the party mood is about to set in, there is a bomb blast outside. Two American soldiers barge inside their home and look for suspects of the blast.
Madan maintains his calm demeanor and convinces them that they have no clue. Just when the soldiers are about to leave they hear the Iraqi landlord Mehdi, come out of the storeroom and are now suspicious. They detain Madan and Mehdi. Just then Chintu’s friend Waheed and a girl come in for the birthday party. Chintu then remembers some Jidahi CDs Waheed had lent him and tries to hide them before the soldiers get to it but its too late. They are hysterical with rage. Madan then begs them just 10 minutes to celebrate his son’s birthday and he will go with them. A very emotional celebration takes place but the soldiers soon change their mind and leave Madan and his family alone and walk out.
