Shyam, played by Bobby Deol is a small time goon with his group of friends that include Jhonny, Titu and Tony. They conduct small time robberies but come across a precious Nizam diamond and get tempted. They steal the diamond and run but Shyam double crosses the group and escapes. He is however caught but before that he hides the diamond in a wrecked building and is arrested. One being released, Shyam comes back for the diamond, but to his surprise, the building has turned into a police station. Left with no choice, Shyam fakes being a police officer and calls himself Ram.
ACP Ranvir is impressed with Shyam but inspector Pandey has his doubts. He tries hard to locate the diamond, but meanwhile he is forced to do his police duties. He even catches his friend Johnny who calls him Shyam, which makes things more suspicious for inspector Pandey. Ram later tells them that Shyam is his twin brother and a criminal. So ACP Ranvir tries to reform Shyam, while the latter has to balance being both brothers. Shyam starts to romance Ranvir’s daughter Kajal, played by Shilpa Shetty while Ram romances inspector Ranjita, played by Bipasha Basu.
Eventually the truth comes to the fore when Kajal finds out about Shyam and Ram. She later plans to marry him in London. The movie is directed by David Dhawan and produced by Rajiv Tolani. The music is composed by Anu Malik.
