Chupke Chupke a 1975 comedy film directed by Hrishkesh Mukherjee is a remake of a Bengali Film Chhadmebeshi. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore, Asrani and Om Prakash in the lead roles.
Professor Parimal Tripathi(Dharmendra) is a botany professor and comes across Sulekha Chaturvedi (Sharmila Tagore ) a student of botany who is on a botanical excursion with her college and falls in love with her. She is charmed by his simplicity and his real personality when Parimal takes up the job of an old watchman for a bungalow to help him go and see his grandson. She starts loving him too and they get married. Parimal and Sulekha decide to visit her sister and brother-in-law (Om Prakash), Parimal who loves to play pranks is jealous of his wife having the highest self-esteem for her successful brother-in-law. He decides to impersonate as Pyaare Mohan their new driver and the series of hilarious misunderstandings coupled with the disguised botany professor throws a light on his wife’s suspected infidelity by pretending her affair with Pyare Mohan their new driver with her sister and brother-in-law not realizing that he is her real husband.
As If that was not enough Parimal gets his best friend Sukumar( Amitabh Bachan) to help out by becoming Parimal and pretending to be Sulekha’s husband !!! Finally, the whole act of comedy is out and the brother-in-law and her sister realise that they have been truly fooled. The film revolving around funny mishaps ends with a happy ending.
