Arjun lives a peaceful and happy life with his family. He goes to the city to complete his further studies and decides to return once done. He comes to the rustic environment of his village and enjoys it until he finds out that his brother Amrit is having a tiff with Thakur Bhanwar Singh and tries to be the peacemaker between the two. His old mother is worried about her sons. One day things take a turn for the worse when the unfortunate news of Amrit’s murder comes to the family. Their mother loses her sanity hearing the devastating news. Their sister is molested by Thakur’s men and Arjun who goes to avenge this gets beaten up badly and left to die.
Meanwhile a gang of dacoits who are passing by take pity on Arjun and take him under their wings. Arjun then slowly turns into an outlaw himself desperately seeking Thakur and his men who destroyed his happy and peaceful family. The film is directed and produced by Rahul Rawail. The music is composed by R D Burman and the story is written by Javed Akhtar. The star cast includes Sunny Deol, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Raakkee, Suresh Oberoi, Raza Murad and Paresh Rawal.
