Jabbar is a staunch Muslim man and controls his house with an iron fist. When he comes to know his sister Sabina is having an affair with Iqbal he is furious and goes on a mad rampage. Sabina and Iqbal fear for their lives and elope and get married. Sadly Jabbar closes in on them and he kills Iqbal. Not able to bear the pain of her beloved’s loss she commits suicide. This has a deep impact on the household and his mother swears to never forgive Jabbar. He is then arrested and sent to 12 years in prison. When he is released he finds no religious practices being followed and in enraged.
Jabbar is then shocked to see his niece Neelima to be a mirror image of Sabina. She however also is in love with a Hindu boy named Sameer. When he comes to know he is disgusted and decides that history shall repeat itself. He goes on a manhunt for Neelima and Sameer, while the entire nation comes to know of the affair between a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl. There are communal tensions because of it. The movie is directed by Lateef Binny and produced by Milan Jhaveri. The star cast includes Akshay Khanna, Sonali Bendre, Danny Denzongpa, Anang Desai, Dalip Tahil, Achyut Potdar,K K Raina, Saba Miraz, Kanu Gill, Anil Nagrath, Achla Sachdev and Anjana Mumtaz.
