This edge of the seat crime suspense-thriller is set in 1942 in Calcutta during the war. Detective Byomkesh is a Indian-Bengali fictional detective character known for his utmost intelligence and presence of mind. He is especially good with logical thinking and detailed knowledge of forensic science. The bone chilling thriller takes us through several crimes and mysteries solved by the popular detective.
Ajit Baneerjee, played by Anand Tiwari is desperate for help to find his father who has gone missing without a trace. He approaches brilliant student Byomkesh Bakshi, played by Sushant Singh Rajput who also enjoys being a detective. Reluctantly he takes up the case and discovers Ajit’s father’s body inside a corrupt politician, Sikdar’s factory. He feels Sikdar might be involved until even he is found dead.
Later Byomkesh comes to know of a drug smuggling ring run by a druglord who keeps changing his identity and names to avoid being caught by the police. This results in an extremely dangerous game of crime that threatens to engulf the entire city of Kolkata. Detective Byomkesh Bakshy is directed and produced by Dibakar Banerjee and also Aditya Chopra. The music is composed by various artists.
