Dhadaj a romantic film release of July 2018 is written and directed by Shashank Khaitan. Jointly produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta for Dharma Productions Banner and Zee Studios . A remake of the Marathi film, Sairat in 2016, starring Ishaan Khatter and debutant Jhanvi Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana, Ankit Bisht, Sridhar Watsar, Kshitij Kumar and Aiswarya Narkar in the supporting roles.
The film is about two lovers. A middle class young boy Madhu Bhagla( essayed by Ishaan Khatter) and the rich girl Parthavi Singh( Janhvi Kapoor) from a political family . Both meet at the college and their love blossoms . However due to the strong family opposition they elope to Kolkota and get married . Start their own small world and have a son. When the son is about 3 years old, Parthavi’s brother and his political gang arrive at their place with gifts . Excited over the family reconciling she steps aside to get some water for them. Her wicked brother and his friends murder the husband Madhu and their 3-year-old son by flinging them from the roof. A film that began with a beautiful romance with a shocking and abrupt sad ending.
