Dharamputra is an Emotional-Romantic Family Drama Film crafted with excellence by Yash Chopra and based on a Novel by Acharya Chatursen Shastry. The Story revolves around the life of Husn Bano (played by Mala Sinha)- A Sweet girl living with her father- Nawab and along with their neighbors Rai family which almost shared every joy and sorrow. She fell in love with Hamid- but he left her when she was pregnant and the Rai family adopted the child and named him Dilip (played by Shashi Kapoor). Due to the Independence of India- Nawab and his family left the town and years later- when she comes to meet Dilip- he becomes an Extremist and Muslim hater, leading to consequences
