Anand, played by Kunal Khemu is a chartered accountant who is hard working and half the time trying to cheer up his girlfriend Neha, played by Soha Ali Khan, who is an unsuccessful actress. Raj, played by Paresh Rawal on the other hand is a struggling movie director, whose every movie has flopped till date and he has suffered innumerable loses. His landlord has given him a warning that this time if he doesn’t pay his dues he will be thrown out and left homeless. Raj then meets Ratan who is the manager of popular film star Aryan Kapoor.
Raj is desperate to sign Aryan for his films and decides to meet Ratan for it. Later they go and buy lots of food and give the bill to Anand who is unable to pay and thus jailed for it. On returning from jail he vows revenge and thus get Raj arrested for shoplifting. Later Anand saves Raj’s life and the two become friends. They both plan a movie, which will be a flop and get assassins to sponsor it. Anand takes Neha as the actress which is sure to flop and behave like rich filmmakers thus making Aryan sign the film. They make up a story from the films Sholay, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Gadar and Lagaan. The film surprisingly becomes a hit and the assassins come to kill them. However they go to jail as that is the only way to get protection.
The movie is directed by Umesh Shukla and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The music is composed by Sajid-Wajid.
