Raja and MAdhu study in the same college and after some initial confict and misunderstandings fall in love. Raja comes from a middle class household whose father is a miser and does not like to spend money. Raja is always at loggerheads with him due to this. Madhu of the other hand is brought up in a rich household and is the only child of her parents. Initially Raja’s father fools MAdhu’s family by pretending to be rich and arranges their wedding, but at the engagement party someone recognizes his father and exposes him. This not only breaks the engagement but the two become bitter enemies. Not willing to sacrifice their love Madhu and Raja elope and get married.
Their respective fathers are horrified to learn of what their children have done and decide to make them separate at any cost. However in the end they realize their mistake and know that MAdhu and Raja are made for each other. The film is directed by Indra Kumar and produced by Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria. The music is composed by Anand Milind. The star cast includes Aamir Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Saeed Jaffrey,Deven Verma,Anupam Kher,Shammi,Rajesh Puri,Satyendra Kapoor,Adi Irani, Padma Rani and Ketki Dave.
