Vijay and Suman study in the same school and are not only the best of friends, but also fall in love with each other. A heart breaking news comes in the form of Suman’s father moving out of the city to a new location and home. The distraught couple then tattoos each other’s name on their arm so that they can forever remember each other. Many years later they happen to meet each other and in a twist of fate, Suman is married to Viajy’s brother Prakash, while Vijay has married an NRI named Rita. They are shocked at the turn of events and are heart broken to see their lovers married to someone else.
Things take a turn for the worse when Suman and Prakash have a horrible accident but soon recover. Meanwhile Viajy and Rita’s marriage is going through a turbulent time. Their incompatibility makes them separate. Soon Suman’s brother who is a well-known advocate comes to know that the couples were swapped. The movie is directed by Ashim Bhattacharji and is produced by Ronie Screwala. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri and the lyrics are written by Majrooh Sultanpuri.
