Ram Saran Pandey, played by Manoj Bajpai is a simple village man who leaves his rural life to go to the city of Mumbai to find a lucrative job. He promises his family back in the village that he will take them all to the city once he gets a stable and well earning job. He eventually gets a job at a motor garage as a mechanic. Kamya, played by Tabu is a successful journalist and goes to Ram’s garage to get her car fixed and is amused at his honesty and innocence. She then gets an idea tow rite various articles about his life and struggles. He starts becoming famous in social circles as more and more people read about him and are fascinated.
Soon Kamya and Ram become good friends and thus he falls in love with her. She however keeps brushing off his proposals. He then gets completely besotted by her and makes up his mind to have her in his life. One day however things change drastically when Ram catches Kamya with another man in her apartment and is heart broken to see them. He then gets furious and sheds all his innocence and becomes a nasty don.
The movie is directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by Ajay Tuli, Anish and Hansal Mehta. The music is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj and Raju Singh. The cinematography is by Sanjay Kapoor.
