Anil lives a poor life with his mother in the slums of Bombay. He is a talented singer and dancer and does so on the streets to make money. One day a club manager sees Anil dancing on the streets and brings him on board to replace his arrogant disco champion Sam. He is renamed as Jimmy. One day when when an electric guitar is connected with 5,000 volts of electricity, his mother accidentally gets electrocuted and dies. This has a traumatic impact on Jimmy and he develops a phobia for guitars. Oberoi asks him to sing but he refuses. He gets his men to break his legs but he walks with the help of Rita, the owner’s daughter. One day Jimmy is reluctant to take part in a disco competition against team Africa and team Paris. But with the support of Rita and his uncle Raju he sings and also plays the guitar. In another accident Oberoi get electrocuted and dies. The film is directed by B Subhash and Irfan Khan and produced by B Subhash. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri.
