Chetan and Payal are young and attracted to each other. Soon they fall in love and confess their love to their respective fathers Daulatram and Bhagwant Singh. They however are not happy with their children’s choice and want them to marry instead with a partner of their choice. The young couple however elope and get married. Payal’s father puts an advertisement in the newspaper asking for information on his daughter and offers a hefty reward for the same. Meanwhile Chetan gets a job as a chauffer while Payal works as a maid. Little do they know that their employer has a dark secret that will jeopardize their life. The film is directed by Raj Khosla and produced by Kundan A Thadani. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The star cast includes Rishi Kapoor, Moushumi Chatterjee, Geeta Behl, I S johar, Devan Verma, Om Prakash, Roopesh Kumar, K N Singh, Trilok Kapoor, Bhagwan, C S Dubey, Raaj Kishore and Aruna Irani.
