Mohan Kumar is an honest and hard working employee of a well known shipping company that belongs to his friend Dinesh. He is intolerant to dishonesty and crime. Three other employees by the name of Bhandari, Jugal and Balwant who are under Mohan Kumar are involved in smuggling. Soon Mohan learns this and notifies the police. To take revenge on him, the three evil men kill Dinesh and frame Mohan for the murder. Unable to prove his innocence, Mohan gets life imprisonment. His wife Sumitra dies in an accident while son Ravi is now orphaned. After his release Mohan goes around searching for his son Ravi but instead meets Roma, Dinesh’s daughter. Ravi is incidentally working for non other than Jugal. Soon Roma and Ravi fall in love. Mohan manages to kill Bhandari and Jugal now hires Ravi to kill Mohan Kumar, not knowing that it is his own father. The film is directed by Ramesh Talwar and produced by Yash Johar. The music is composed by R D Burman. The star cast includes Ashok Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Rishi Kapoor, Amrita Singh, Prem Chopra, Amrish Puri and Pran.
