An orphaned young boy Dev, played by Rajeev Govinda Pillai, loves dancing and has great talent in it. He is adopted by a dancing teacher called Guruji, played by Girish Karnad. His immence skill in dancing takes Dev to Guruji’s dance academy in Kolkata. Seeing his unbelievable talent and grace in dancing, Guruji decides to train him further, thus making Dev his best student.
Dev happens to meet Guruji’s young daughter Sanjukta and starts falling in love with her. But he realizes that its just one sided love for him. A Chhau dancer called Gambhira, played by Rajesh Shringarpure starts to seduce Sanjukta. There is something eerie about Gambhira which later is revealed that he is a Naxalite and on a dangerous mission. Not knowing this information, Sanjukta secretly marries him, crushing her father’s trust and dreams. Few days into marriage itself, Gambhira starts showing his ugly colours and ruins Sanjukta’s life.
Ek Adhbut Dakshina Guru Dakshina is directed by Kiran Phadnis and produced by Aayush and Eshaan Phadnis. The music is composed by Ismail Darbar and Siddharth Chopra.
