Tara, played by Govinda and Sitara, played by Sanjay Dutt, are close friends and small-time criminals. While being chased by the cops one day, they accidentally shoot a notorious gangster named Cobra, played by Ashish Vidhyarthi. They try to find a hiding place and end up in the house of Major Ram Singh, played by Jackie Shroff. Ram Singh has Cobra’s brother Panther, played by Gulshan Grover arrested for stealing a high value gun. He reluctantly allows Sitara and Tara to hide in his house.
Tara falls in love with Ram Singh’s sister, while Sitara falls in love with his sister’s friend. One day Cobra returns but kidnaps Tara and Sitara’s mother and demands that his brother Panther be set free anyhow if they want their mother alive. The duo manage to set Panther free and thus their mom is returned safely. When Ram Singh hears of this he is furious. He feels cheated by Tara and Sitara and is mocked by the media. The brothers feel guilty and tell the truth to Ram Singh, who forgives them. They then take revenge from Cobra and Panther by getting them arrested.
The movie is directed by David Dhawan and produced by Subhash Ghai. The music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and the cinematography is by Nadeem Khan. The screenplay is written by Yunus Sajawal.
