Rano marries Trilok and begins her happy married life. But her happiness is short lived, as he starts to abuse her and is regularly drunk. They have two young children and even after many years into her marriage, her mother-in-law curses her for not bringing in enough dowry. Only her blind and old father-in-law is kind and sympathetic towards her but he can do little to save her. One day Trilok rescues a young girl and drops her to a near by inn. However, when she is raped and killed the next day, the girl’s brother doubts Trilok and murders him in rage.
Rano is now left to fend for herself and her two children all by herself. Her mother-in-law now forces her to marry her younger son Mangal, who is no less than 10 years younger to her. After the marriage, Mangal ill-treats and abuses Rano just like Trilok did. Later she comes to know that he is actually in love with a girl called Raji. The film is directed by Sukhawant Dhadda and produced by G M Singh and Nindrajog. The music is composed by Anu Malik. The star cast includes Rishi Kapoor, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Dina Pathak, Hema Malini, Poonam Dhillon, A K Hangal, Shammi, Adarsh Gautam and Geeta Siddharath.
