Vikram is a wealthy widower, who lives a lavish life with his
only daughter Chandni. Being motherless, Vikram has brought
up his daughter and son Sanjay by sacrificing his own
happiness and goals in life. He gives them the love of both a
mother and father. He decides to get Chandni married to the
rich and successful Shivraj. However Chandni falls for a middle
class boy named Vijay. This does not go down well with Vikram
and he warns Chandni to stay away from Vijay. The young
lovers however make their way into the ruthless world one
way or the other.
The film is directed and produced by Yash Chopra. The music is
composed by Shiv Hari and the story is written by Sachin
Bhowmik. The cinematography is by Harmeet Singh and
Manmohan Singh. The choreography is by Suresh Bhatt. The
star cast includes Sunil Dutt, Farooque Sheikh, Rekha, Raj
Kiran, Roshan Kapoor, Farha, Javed Khan, Deepti Naval, Naaz,
Sushma Seth and Nikita Shah.
