Ranjit Kumar is an honest police officer whose only goal is to protect the law and his country. He and his wife Bharti and hailed as the modern day Ram and Sita for their deeds. Sita gets pregnant and delivers her first child but she gets the sad news from her father that the child died. The devastated couple try for another child and soon they give birth to another son named Ravi. The latter from the very beginning is notorious
and falls into bad company. He drinks, smokes, parties and wastes his life. To get him to reform he is sent to a hostel but he runs off from there. Ranjit finds him and keeps him away from Bharti to make him leave all his bad habits. Soon it comes to light that Ranjit and Bharti’s first born Ramu was not dead but is now a grown up man living with their old maid. He was handed to her by Bharti’s father. Ravi and Ranjit meanwhile don’t get along and in a fit of rage Ravi leaves home. Bharti gets a shock seeing this. Soon the maid reveals the truth about her first son Ramu. She is overjoyed but her time is come to leave and she takes a promise from Raju to unite Ravi with his father again. The film is directed by K Raghavendra Rao and produced by M Arjuna Raju and A S R Anjineelu. The music is composed by Laxmikant Kudalkar,Pyarelal,Bappi Lahiri. The star cast includes Jeetendra, Raj Kiran, Hema Malini and Rati Agnihotri.
