Sunny, played by Sharib Hashmi works as an assistant director. He is a huge filmy buff and dreams of becoming a superstar someday. Every audition he goes he gets rejected. Then he ends up working with an American crew but while shifting to another location he gets kidnapped by a terrorist group in Pakistan and kept in a village. The house in which he’s kidnapped and kept belongs to Aftab who is also a hindi movie buff and loves collecting pirated DVDs. He plays one and Sunny enacts the dialogues, which builds a bond between them.
The terrorist group leader gets a camera one day and asks for a hostage video. Since no one knows how to operate the camera Sunny starts filming the video himself with several takes and finally gets the last take right with the leader saying his own demands. The video is sent with the messenger. Later a patrolling car of cops comes in the village but Aftab distracts them by giving them pirated DVDs and tells Sunny to hide or he will be killed.
As Sunny and Aftab become friends he promises that he would help Sunny escape from the village. So they hatch a plan to do fake auditions of an escape scene at the border and both escape wearing a burqa. They are caught after trying to escape on a motorbike but are stopped by the leader but later lets them go when the entire village pleads. He is then killed and Sunny and Aftab both cross the border and escape.
The movie is directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Shyam Shroff, Balkrishna Shroff, Subhash Chaudary, Shaila Tanna
and Siddharth Roy Kapur.
