Ferdie Pinto, played by Naseeruddin Shah comes to know that his one true love Fanny, played by Anjali Patil never knew how much he loved her. Thus he goes in search for her with the help of his good friend Angie, played by Deepika Padukone who is a young widow, her mother in law Rosie, played by Dimple Kapadia, a womanizing artist Don Pedro, played by Pankaj Kapur and Angie’s old childhood friend Savio, played by Arjun Kapoor.
They all reach Fanny’s old house but find it is occupied by a Russian man who claims she sold him the house 20 years back and moved to Tivoli. Now on assuming they reached Tovoli, Savio realizes, Ferdie cant read maps well and gave him wrong directions thus they reach in Karnataka. They have also run out of petrol so they all decide to spend the night in the open field. Pedro tries to convince Rosie to pose for his painting and Savio goes to a quite place to talk to Angie. Angie tells him that she married Gabo only because he never asked her but she had loved him and realizing that they both love each other they make love.
Meanwhile Ferdie gets petrol in the morning and leaves thanking everyone with a letter. Everyone is ready to leave but Rosie decides to wait for him and thinks all are being selfish. She gets into an argument with Savio and in a fit of rage mistakenly shoots Don Pedro in the head while no one notices. They lie about his death saying he must have left early. They later reach Tivoli only to see the funeral procession of Fanny and her daughter was never told of any Ferdie. A heartbroken Ferdie attends the funeral and leaves and six months later marries Rosie.
The movie is directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan. The music is composed by Mathias Duplessy and
Sachin-Jigar.
