Afzal Guru was arrested in connection with the 2001 horrific attacks on the Indian Parliament. He was convicted in the Indian court of law and sentenced to death. The movie’s story revolves around his son named Gaalib. Afzal’s son Gaalib Guru had no idea his father was a terrorist up until the death sentence was awarded to him by the court. Things began to drastically change is their lives from that point onwards.
The death sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court and Afzal Guru was hanged to death on February 9th 2013. Gaalib was named by his father after the famous Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib. He grew up to be a brilliant student. Everyone was surprised at his performance in his class. He knew things would never be the same again.
The movie is directed by Manoj Giri and produced by Ghanshyam Patel. The movie and screenplay is written by Dhiraj Mishra. The cinematography is by Paramendra Pandey. The star cast includes Deepika Chikhalia, Nikkhil Pitaley, Imran Hasnee, Anil Rastogi, Jyotsna Trivedi, Anamika Shukla, Reshma Gulani, Virendra Mishra and Soham Maiti.
