Gali Guleiyan is a psychological thriller film with two parallel tales that have something in common, a broken home, shattered dreams and a lonely existence that needs to be heard out.
The film is a dark haunting film with paranoiac loner Khuddus (Manoj Bajapayee) who finds his mind trapped with his past and it’s interpretations. Having lost track of time, the purpose of his life is itself defeated and his existence now revolves around the fantasy of spying neighbors. Living in a lonesome life with dust and cobwebs on his belongings for years that he hasn’t touched, he quarantines himself from the world in a small house in old Delhi and his only contact with the outside world is his best friend Ranvir Shorey, who watches him helplessly while he loses his grip on the reality and tried to keep him occupied and alive.
While Khuddus is on the verge of dying of starvation he has one agenda to look for a troubled boy Idu who needs to be rescued, portrayed by the young actor Om Singh. The parallel story starts to unfold and one can connect the two on the story of parent child disconnect and portrays alarming psychological isolation which is the root cause of the pent up emotions or hidden angst. The film Gali Guleiyan sheds light on how parents pass on their misery and guilt to their children unknowingly and expecting them to follow without any complaints.
Directed by Dipesh Jain, cinematographer Kai Miedendorp, produced by Dipesh Jain, Shuchi Jain and Lena Vurma with a star cast led by Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey, Shahana Goswami and Om Singh in the lead roles the film is released on 7th September 2018.
