Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or Mahatma Gandhi was known as the father of the nation. He only believed in non-violence and peace. He never advocated or supported any kind of viciousness against humans. Instilling his values and beliefs in todays generation is a very tough job.
Rai Saheb, played by Om Puri is an NRI who has just returned back to India. Even though he has lived abroad for a considerable amount of time, he still follows and believes in Mahatma Gandhi’s principals. Rai’s father was part of the freedom struggle and worked very closely with Gandhiji in restoring the nations peace.
While Rai is going about his life he crosses paths with four different people who have gone stray and made wrong choices in their lives. While their mistakes are immoral, it isn’t irreparable damage and there is still hope. Rai makes them see how Gandhiji’s teachings and beliefs could work in their favor and reverse their life altogether.
Gandhigiri is directed by Sanoj Mishra and produced by Sudhir Jain and Pratap Singh Yadav. The music is composed by Sahil Rayyan and Shivam Pathak.
