Simran, played by Kangana Ranaut lives in Seol and waits for her lover gangster Daya, played by Shiney Ahuja to return back. Meanwhile she befriends a singer named Aakash, played by Emraan Hashmi. After choosing to separate from his boss Khan, played by Gulshan Grover, Daya flees to Seol with Simran and they adopt a boy named Bittu but he gets killed during a police shootout. This causes a huge strain in their relationship. Daya then goes to Dubai and Mauritius for work. Aakash and Simran become close and he confesses his love to her but she is afraid to confess her own love.
One day Daya returns and asks Simran to pack her things and leave. She is upset with him for leaving her in the lurch for so long. Daya then tells her that he has left the world of crime behind and will work honestly and return back to their village in India. Meanwhile Simran comes to know that she is pregnant with Aakash’s child. Aakash then tell her to turn Daya in as this would be good for their unborn child and their future. After a fight with Khan Daya comes injured to meet Simran but the cops encircle him and he is arrested. He despises Simran for cheating him and getting him arrested.
Next day when she goes to meet Aakash she realizes that he is a cop and faked being in love with Simarn to get Daya arrested. She lashes out at him and is taken away by the cops. She then goes to meet Daya in jail who is sentenced to death on admitted himself guilty of his crimes. She then goes and shoots Aakash who shoots her in return and they both are hospitalized. Daya is then taken to the gallows while Simran jumps to her death at the hospital.
The movie is directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. The music is composed by Pritam.
