Thakur Ranjit Singh is a wealthy man and is also very compassionate. He one day rescues a girl named Kajal from the crutches of a brothel. He falls in love with her and takes her home as his wife. One day the wicked and evil Shakal meets with Kajal and sows the seeds of doubt in the mind of Ranjit. He then kills Kajal but he is not satisfied. Her spirit than haunts him and he gets restless. Soon he finds a look-a-like of Kajal
and takes her home. He sees himself falling in love with her once again. But the vengeful spirit of Kajal will destroy him forever. The film is directed by Tulsi and Shyam Ramsey and produced by Vijay Anand. The music is composed by R D Burman. The star cast includes Vijay Anand, Rekha, Shreeram Lagu, Dheeraj Kumar, Iftekhar, Padma Khanna and Leela Mishra.
