Gold: The Dream That United our Nation is a historical sports drama film directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Ritesth Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment.
The film is based upon the national hockey team’s title during the 1948 Summer Olympics and was first released in Saudi Arabia and had grossed the total of 151.43 crore over a budget of 55 crores.
A true story of an independent India’s first Gold win at the Olympics. Tapan Das ( Akshay Kumar) who is a young drunk and independent Hockey Team Manager but holds aspirations to win the gold and play for the free India. He starts coaching a new team to earn the Gold medal at the 1948 Summer Olympics. While he is doing his best for the team to win the Gold, he is also battling against his own personal demons and the changing of the Independent Era. Music for the film is by Sachin-Jigar.
