Sriram is a happy go lucky guy who takes life as it comes. He goes for his girlfriend’s brother’s wedding in Delhi and meets a girl called Dia, played by Kareena Kapoor very briefly. He later meets her Dia again at a mall opening where she sends some children inside to play due to lack of place outside for them. Impressed by her sweet gesture Sriram befriends Dia and they both start dating.
Dia confides to Sriram, that she wants to build an orphanage for children on a certain piece of land that she wishes to buy. Later she learns that Sriram ahs purchased that land for his father who in return buys him an Audi car. Angered by this attitude, Dia breaks up with him after a long argument. Sriram goes away to the US to study further while Dia carries on with her charity work.
Sriram has just returned after completing his studies in architecture in USA. His parents arrange his marriage to a girl called Vasudha, played by Shraddha Kapoor, but she loves a Punjabi boy. Vasudha makes Sriram realize after hearing his whole story about Dia that he still has feeling for her and should seek her. He runs away from his wedding and finds out that Dia is staying at a village in Gujarat. She still angry with him tells him to build a bridge only then will she forgive him and go back with him.
He sells a piece of barren land to a corrupt politician and gets the money to build the bridge. The politician on the other hand decides to construct a chemical factory on the land. Dia comes to know of this and is infuriated with Sriram yet again. He apologizes and decides to build the bridge and with the help of the head of the village stops the factory construction too. Dia later forgives him and decides to go back with him.
The movie is directed by Punit Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar. The music is composed by Vishal-Shekhar.
