Raja and Yash are the best of friends even though they come from very different back grounds and upbringing. Raja comes from a poor household, while Yash is wealthy and powerful. Both the friends unfortunately fall in love with the same girl named Rani. Raja and Rani fall in love and decide to get married soon. This doesn’t go down very well with Yash, who is burning with jealousy. He accidentally kills Raja in an altercation. Rani sees this and is devastated. She promises Yash that Raja will be with him soon and she leaps to her death, committing suicide. Raja is disturbed seeing this. He then remains unmarried for many years.
Soon Yash comes across a girl called Reshma who looks just like Rani and wants her to be his wife. Meanwhile he also finds a man called Raju who is the look a like of his old friend Raja. Reshma explains everything to Raju who starts remembering his past and kills Yash in the same place he had killed Raja. The movie is directed by Sanjay Gupta and produced by G P Sippy. The star cast includes Saif Ali Khan, Kajol, Aditya Pancholi, Laxmikant Berde, Kader Khan, Achyut Potdar, Satyen Kappu, Milind Gunaji, Tej Sapru, Ikhlaq Khan, Bharat Kaushal, Hussain Sheikh, Ishrat Ali and Aruna Irani.
