Hamid a film set in Kashmir was to be released in 2018 and got postponed for various reasons and the new date of release was meant to be on 1st March 2019. However, it further got postponed due to the Pulwama attack and in honor of the martyred CRPF jawans, the film release was slated and is now set for its release on 15th March 2019.
Directed by Aijaz Khan, starring Rasika Dugal, Vikas Kumar and Sunit Kaul, the film also features Kashmiri Boy Talha Arshad Reshi in the pivotal Role as ‘Hamid’. Actor Vikas Kumar plays the role of CRPF Jawan in the film.
The story is about a friendship between a 8-year-old Muslim boy and a CRPF soldier in the valleys and is about love, peace and healing. The film will convey an important message of peace through the conflicted times. Produced by Yoodlee Films, a venture of Saregama, Hamid is innocent and thinks the number 786 is a direct line to God. Assumes that if he calls on that number he will be able to speak to his deceased father. Instead the phone call gets connected to Central Reserve Police Force soldier Vikas Kumar. Their friendship develops over the phone. The film ‘Hamid’ explores the Kashmir conflict through their friendship and with its narrative, it calls for peace and closure.
