Avinash lives a humble lifestyle with his parents until they decide to come to Bombay for a lucrative and better life. However things are so easy in a big city and they struggle each day to survive. Avinash crosses paths with Sami who is the brother of a notorious underworld boss named Kushal Khan. He is helpful to Avinash many times. However his father is unable to bear the burden of being in a poor and miserable state all the time and commits suicide. A devastated and helpless Avinash is now left to care for the family and be the sole bread winner. Unable to find a decent job, he takes to the life of crime and slowly becomes a full-fledged gangster. He now comes in the way of the rivalry of Khushal Khan and his opponent Rajan Anna.

 

The film is directed by J P Dutta and produced by F A Nadiadwala. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and the story is written by O P Dutta and J P Dutta. The cinematography is by Ishwar Bidri. The star cast includes Dharmendra, Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sangeeta Bijlani, Asha Parekh, Amrita Singh, Paresh Rawal, Satyajeet, Shyam, Avtar Gill, Disco Shanti, Javed Khan, Mahesh Anand and Ram Mohan.
