Mahi Arora, played by Kareena Kapoor is a top actress of Bollywood. She is madly in love with Bollywood actor Aryan, played by Arjun Rampal, but because of his denial to make a commitment she is very upset. Aryan meanwhile is going through a rough divorce with his wife and son. Mahi embarrasses Aryan on various occasions like barging in on a movie set where he has an intimate scene with another actress and during parties creating scenes with other fellow actresses.

Aryan has had enough and asks Mahi to get out of his car and in anger she reports it to the police. Later Mahi releases a sex tape of her and Aryan just before the release of her small budget movie, so it garners enough publicity. Aryan is infuriated and breaks up with her. He starts avoiding her and this puts her in depression. She goes into drinking heavily. Until one day she meets Angad Paul, played by Randeep Hooda, VP of Indian National Cricket team. Later he proposes to her but Mahi puts it off saying its too early in her career to get married and this puts off Angad and he breaks up with her.

This puts lot of stress and pressure in Mahi’s life and she goes downhill with relying heavily on smoking, drinking and prescription drugs. She even tries to adopt a child to feel better about her life but the authorities accuse her of being an alcoholic and refuse her rights to adopt. Finally Mahi makes the decision of leaving the industry and settling abroad where no one recognizes her as a Bollywood actress.

The movie is directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Madhur Bhandarkar. The music is composed by Salim-Sulaiman.
