Hichki which means Hiccup is a 2018 is an emotional comedy drama film directed by Sidharth P. Malhotra and produced by Maneesh Sharma for the Yash Raj Films Banner. The film is an Indian adaptation of Brad Cohrn’s autobiography ‘ Front of the Class’ based on the story, ‘ How Tourette Syndrome Made Me The Teacher I never had’. Yash Raj Films is said to have acquired the rights to produce this film in Hindi and was granted approval by Cohen himself and was involved to give advise during the making of the film.
Rani Mukherji in the lead role as the aspiring teacher having the Tourette Syndrome proves herself by educating a group of underprivileged students. The film was released on March 23rd 2018 and received positive reviews . The film was also screened at the Shanghai International Film Festival in June 2018. Rani Mukherji as the female protagonist is convincing in her role and is her first film after a four year long hiatus.
