Many backward states and the interiors still believe in honor killings, where the adult children and murdered brutally for falling in love or marrying in the wrong caste or community. Hundreds of cases are still reported in states like Punjab, Bihar, etc. and also there are hundreds of cases that go unreported and the murder is kept as a secret within the family. The story of the movie Honour Killing revolves around this subject that is a stigma still prevailing in our so-called modernized society.
A father learns that his daughter has married a guy from another caste and is furious. Not knowing what to do he doesn what everyone else has been doing for ages. He simply decides to kill his daughter and then his new son-in-law. The matter is reported by the son-in-laws family and he is arrested. In prison he has an enlightenment of a different kind, one that will change his life forever.
The movie is written and directed by Avtar Bhogal and produced by Manmohan Singh. The music is composed by Uttam Singh and the cinematography is done by Chris Tritschler. The star cast of the movie includes Sandeep Singh, Tom Alter, Zara Sheikh, Gulshan Grover and Prem Chopra.
