Arjun works at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai as a waiter. He is guided by head chef Hemant. The guests for that day include a British Muslim heiress Zahra, her American husband David and her new born baby with her nanny and an ex-spetznaz called Vasili. The same night a group of 10 terrorists attack 10 different places in Mumbai including the Taj hotel. Arjun, David, his wife and Vasili are stuck in the hotel when the terrorists strike. The police are unable to handle this sought of attack and wait for special forces from Delhi. The nanny is in the room with the baby. As David tries to get help, he is captured by the terrorists.
Meanwhile the cops try and enter the hotel to track the terrorists. One of the wounded guests Bree who tries to flee the place gets shot by the terrorists. They now try and break into the chambers lounge, which is a hidden club within the hotel. Arjun is asked by the officer to attack and he does so wounding one of them. Meanwhile Vasili and Zahra who try to escape are also taken hostage. While the terrorists kill Vasili and David, they let Zahra go as she recites the Muslim prayer. The special forces arrive and shoot the remaining terrorists who have killed many guests and staff of the hotel already.
The movie is directed by Anthony Maras and produced by Gary Hamilton, Andrew Ogilvie, Jomon Thomas, Mike Gabrawy, Julie Ryan, Brian Hayes and Basil Iwanyk. The star cast includes Dev Patel, Anupam Kher, Armie Hammer, Nazanin Bonaidi, Jason Isaacs, Suhail Nayyar.
