Vishwanath is a wealthy business tycoon and Megha, played by Kajol works as his personal assistant. She comes from a poor background but is hard working and dedicated and thus Vishwanath holds her in high regard. He depends on her for almost all his work.His son Vijay, played by Anil Kapoor, is his only child and is extremely spoilt and stubborn. He lives a care-free and irresponsible life. Vishwanath tells him to settle down before he dies and emotionally nails him. Vijay agrees but with the condition that he wants to try it out for a year before he agrees to settle down.
Vishwanath is now in a dilemma and doesn’t know which girl will agree to live with his son for a year. He likes Megha and seeing her financial condition asks her if she would be interested for a hefty amount. Having no choice and the mounting bills in her house, Megha agrees. With some initial awkwardness, Megha and Vijay start warming up to each other. He begins to like her especially after she stands up for herself when she discovers she is pregnant with his child. Soon they reconcile and Megha delivers a baby boy.
The movie is directed by Satish Kaushik and produced by D Rama Naidu. The star cast includes Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Rakesh Bedi, Adi Irani, Mink, Sadhu Meher, Dinesh Hingoo, Annu Malik, Sudha Chandran, Smita Jaykar, Rajoo Shreshtha, Gracy Singh, Rama Naidu and Anuradha Paudwal.
